Black Caucus - The Congressional Black Caucus is an organization representing the black members of the United States Congress. Membership is exclusive to African-Americans,
It was a nice sunny day and I was walking with my housemate to the rec center when a white convertible Mercedes pulled up beside us. The man driving was an older, well-dressed, businessy type looking guy. He introduced himself, let's call him Malcolm for safety reasons, and proceeded to talk about owning a law firm and how he was on his way to the Black Caucus. He gave me his business card and went on his way. The following was my thought process...
Lawyer - Check!
Owns a business - Check!
Drives a nice car - Check!
In-touch with the black population - Check!
So... I immediately texted him saying .. Nice to meet you with a :)
Here's where the story gets interesting. Out of curiosity I decided to Google his name. The first 10 links on Google were about this Malcolm guy being the leader of this black extremist party (basically a black version of the KKK). About 3 seconds later, he texted me wanting to meet up later that same night.
Most people would have not responded ... however I was soooo curious to find out more. Later that night my friend and I met up with him - In a public setting, surrounded by many.
We went to a bar on U St and had a couple of drinks. My friend and I had not disclosed that we had done a thorough investigation on him. During the first 10 minutes of our little rendezvous, he was quick to let us know that he was going to South Africa on a "liberation mission", and that he believed that the white man had stripped black people from all their rights. I built up the courage to let him know that I was half white, and if he had a problem with that. To my surprise he confessed that his great grandfather was white and there was nothing he could really do about it - talk about self-hate.
We concluded the night with some delicious burgers, and went our separate ways. My experience, to say the least, was interesting/scary. He argued that violence was a way to solve issues. The way he spoke was so manipulating that it made me understand the ease he has to recruit people.
No contact was made after this encounter, however we did find out the following, thanks to the internet.
- He once attempted to enter Canada, via the Toronto airport, was denied due to criminal history. Flew to Buffalo, attempting to cross through Niagara Falls - Denied.
- There was a clip on the internet stating that he hated Obama, and thought Obama had the ideologies of a white man. He said that Michelle should leave this Uncle Tom and take her children with her.
- He's on the FBI watch list.
I don't really have a concluding thought to this story, however you never know who you will meet in the D[M]V.

The DMV
DMV - also know as DC, Maryland and Virgina.
About 4 months ago I started a brand new chapter in my life. I graduated from college, moved to a new city and got a J.O.B.! Excitement was everywhere, new city, new job, new friends and most importantly a new dating scene. Washington, DC, also known as Chocolate City, awaited my presence - I was ready! Little did I know 3 months later I would have a novel filled with crazy stories about the even crazier people I have met. I find myself often thinking ... What else can I possibly encounter?
I have shared my stories with many friends and family. Often they laugh, and at times they advise me to seek protective services. The more I talk to people, the more they open up and share their own stories. Finally, it hit me ... It's not me, it's not the places I meet these men ... the problem is the [D]MV.
Married men, controlling men, self-obsessed men, groupon men, murderers, leaders of extremist parties ... and the list goes on. Who knows who I will meet next...
I am creating this blog not to warn people about this crazy world and not to steer people away from the dating scene. I am writing this blog for pure entertainment. If you have funny, crazy stories, feel free to share! Life isfunny hilarious, live spontaneously.
At the end of the day I leave you with this ...
FIND OUT AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE ABOUT THE PEOPLE YOU MEET AS SOON AS THEY GIVE YOU THEIR NAME!
Ladies, be your own FBI.
Stay tuned :)
